Hurricane Arthur hit Category 2 status sometime on July 3rd off the Carolinas, but it wouldn't be until late in the day on July 4th before the our area saw his impact – and what an impact it was! In dramatic fashion, the NY and NJ coastlines lit up seemingly within minutes – going from waist high to significantly overhead in a blink of an eye as the afternoon turned to early evening. Amazingly, the swell was all but gone by morning, but the memories remain for those of us lucky enough to have been in the right place at the right time. Whether you were there or not, here's hoping this is the beginning of a very fun Atlantic Hurricane season!
